Although flats were offered this year, Dino and his Spikes ‘n’ Tights teammates once again “Woman’d Up” and strapped on some shiny red stilettos for a great cause! Royal LePage First Contact was also proud to once again be the Presenting Sponsor of Walk a Mile in Her Shoes 👠 to benefit The Women & Children's Shelter of Barrie. We believe that this event is not only important for assisting in raising funds for The BWCS, but also to increase awareness and help to eliminate domestic violence against women.

Supporting this cause is deeply important to Dino. His close friend, Angela Hoyt had her life tragically taken on May 21, 2011 by her ex-boyfriend. Angela was a true Humanitarian who always fought for those who needed assistance and sought to find ways to help them.

This year, Dino did another video promotion of the walk, watch here

The Spike ‘n’ Tights crew was also featured in the Barrie Examiner to further promote this year’s event, seen here

For the 2nd year in a row, Dino raised the most money out of all participants, $3,411! For which he won a Napoleon barbeque, Dino thoughtfully put the names of everyone who donated to him in a draw for the BBQ prize. Congats to the lucky winner, Lindsay Van Impe! Together the team raised

It is truly amazing to see what happens when our community comes together. Participants worked so hard to raise funds for the shelter that they beat their $30,000 goal by almost $10,000!

Round of applause for everyone who donated, volunteered, cheered, and put on their red pumps! See you next year!
